Now all I need is a free boat ride...

Its been a long time since I last posted. But I couldn't miss this. Two of my favorite games come together.

I went to the local Coheed And Cambria show this weekend and it was awesome. I am kicking myself for not bringing my camera. We bought advanced tickets online at coheedandcambria.com and were really close to the doors before the show. However, due to a poorly managed staff regular ticket holders went in first. Aside from this set back it was a great show. Although I could have done without two of the three opening acts, namely Me Without You and The Blood Brothers. Dredg was pretty cool. After 5 hours of standing I was beat. I wonder if at 27 I am getting too old for this kind of thing.

If I remember right the show went something like this:

1. Keeping the Blade
2. Always & Never
3. Welcome Home
4. Ten Speed
5. Delirium Trigger
6. Three Evils
7. Apollo I: The Writing Writer
8. Once Upon Your Dead Body
10. A Favor House Atlantic
11. Blood Red Summer
12. Wake Up
13. The Suffering
14. Devil in Jersey City
15. Everything Evil

Encore

16. In Keeping Secrets
17. Final Cut
For eons man has searched for a zen-like existence. Where you achieve inner peace and harmony with your surroundings. For me, Apple's iPod is a step in that direction. And, yesterday, with a lot of help from my friend Mark, I took another step towards nirvana. Friends I have seen the light! My pods have united, I've "iPodded my car." I fought with my iTrip for almost a year. The biggest problem with FM adapters in general is that the signal that works great in your garage, is the worst one to use on the road. If its not the local mariachi station bleeding over to your "empty" signal, its the car next to you broadcasting the latest American I-dull. For my birthday my wife gave me (let me buy) a Dension ice>Link: Plus. A couple of days shipping later and lots of help from Mark. I am enjoying crystal clear sound from my iPod in my lovely GTI. Please friends if you too are in the dark, like I was, look here for answers.

Anyone want a lightly used iTrip? ;-)
Nine Inch Nails' new venture With Teeth is a wonderful departure into a redefining excellence that has been on repeat in my iPod for days. The major radio hit "The Hand That Feeds" is a small sample of what awaits on the full album. The album has so many gems. Right from the first track, "All The Love In The World", you hear wonderful adventures into Trent's vocal repertoire. This continues to the last track "Right Where It Belongs" which has a haunting quality much like "Hurt". With lyrics like "Sometimes, I can see right through myself" juxtaposed to a pop-like back beat this album also has the edge you'd expect from Trent Reznor. Lot's of new and very enjoyable.
"An academic at McGill University has a simple plan to stop the plague of unauthorized music downloads on the Internet. But it entails changing the entire music industry as we know it, and Apple Computers, which may have the power to make the change, is listening." This is the very practice I've been preaching to everyone who would listen. Its along the very gray lines of Allofmp3.com. Mass loads of ubiquitous content and MP3s by the pound are things dreams are made of. Apple sells over 1.25 Million songs a day. Add to that, the iPod's massive market share and Apple stands in a great position to truely change the music industry (again).
